defensive handgun I
(5 hours over 1 day all spent downrange ) This class is designed for those who have a concealed Handgun License (CHL). This class builds on our CHL Class. Where the prior class focuses the fundamentals of marksmanship, firearms safety and guides students in pistol and holster selection for everyday concealed carry; this class gives the students training in the practical considerations of carrying a handgun on a daily basis.
Students will learn "tactical/combat-accuracy" vs. "technical/marksmanship-accuracy" and apply it on the range learning to engage multiple threats. Shooting while moving, close-quarters shooting, drawing from their concealed carry holster, presenting the gun, assessing threats and engaging threats all while the body is under stress, is something that most of us don't practice; however this is exactly what one must be prepared to encounter during a deadly force encounter. We train, exactly how you carry in real life. Using the same gun, concealed carry holster and set up you carry day to day. On range lecture includes the ethics of the use of deadly force, ballistics and the physiology of gun shot wounds and incapacitation, and prepares students for the course of fire. Students will need to own their own handgun, holster, eye/hearing protection, one magazine (two recommended), and 200 rounds of ammunition.
-NOTE- September 2nd class will be held in Zanesville, Ohio at Briar Rabbit Shooting
